The Conciertos al Bosque crest features Jardín al Bosque’s beloved flamboyán tree intertwined with a musical note. It symbolizes the connection between nature and music, while its roots represent Puerto Rican culture and the growth of local talent.

A Gift of Love

The story begins with a flamboyán tree—given by my father, Harold "Renny Huntley, to my mother, Maria Huntley, as a meaningful gift and lasting expression of love over 40 years ago.

The tree became part of our family’s home and history. Over the years, it grew alongside us, witnessing countless moments and memories.

From Roots to Evolution

Víctor J. Emmanuelli Náter “Vitito”

Percussionist, educator, and creator.

Víctor J. Emmanuelli Náter—known as “Vitito”—is the creator and director of Bomba Evolución and Rebelión Jazz Ensemble.

With over 40 years of experience, he has distinguished himself as a percussionist, educator, workshop leader, and lecturer. His work focuses on the history, theory, practice, and rudiments of indigenous Afro-Puerto Rican music.

Through his projects, Vitito transforms ancestral knowledge into a vibrant, contemporary musical expression, creating music grounded in tradition for a new era.

Bomba Evolución was founded in 2007 with the aim of presenting and disseminating fragments of ancestral knowledge, reinterpreted through the lens of our contemporary musical reality.

The group honors the history, theory, and practice of indigenous Afro-Puerto Rican music, using music as a vehicle to preserve, share, and further develop this heritage.

Rebelión Jazz Ensemble emerged organically in 2010, born from its creator's ongoing process of growth and development. This project represents an offshoot and expansion of Bomba Evolución, fusing elements of Puerto Rican *bomba* with the sounds, harmonies, and improvisations of modern jazz.

Both projects share a common vision: to create music grounded in tradition for a new era, connecting ancestral memory with fresh possibilities for expression.

Cheryl Rivera: Album Release Concert

Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Cheryl Rivera has spent more than fifteen years building a distinctive presence within the music scene. A graduate of the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico with a bachelor’s degree in Music, Cheryl brings together Latin American rhythms with elements of jazz, bossa nova, bolero, and folk, creating a sound that feels both deeply rooted and refreshingly original.

Her energy and passion as a live performer have taken her to stages in Chicago, New York, Austin, Cuba, Spain, and Colombia. She has also participated in renowned festivals and industry showcases, including South by Southwest (SXSW) and the Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC).

Her album Matria was recognized by the Fundación Nacional para la Cultura Popular as one of its 20 Recordings of the Year, while several of her songs have appeared among Sonando en Puerto Rico’s 20 Songs of the Year. Her single La Danza Estelar received Best Video honors at both the Puerto Rico Film Festival and the Europe Music Video Awards. The song also reached No. 1 on AZ Rock, where it remained for several consecutive weeks. Cheryl has also appeared twice in Banco Popular’s celebrated annual music special.

Cheryl is now preparing to share her new album, Arrullo de Agua—a collection of music inspired by love, nature, and the connections that unite us. In her voice, one can hear the earth; through her music, something deeply spiritual comes alive.

Get ready for an intimate evening where music, nature, and the spirit of Puerto Rico come together beneath the trees.

Ricardo Pons — The First Edition of Conciertos al Bosque September 10th, 2026

The inaugural edition of Conciertos al Bosque brought live jazz into the intimate, natural setting of Jardín al Bosque.

Saxophonist Ricardo Pons led an expressive performance alongside Eduardo Zayas on piano and arrangements, Daniel Andrades on bass, and Francisco Alcalá on drums. Together, they filled the garden with rhythm, improvisation, and the distinctive energy of Puerto Rican jazz.

Surrounded by tropical greenery and warm lights, guests enjoyed an evening where music and nature became part of the same experience.

This recap captures the beginning of a new gathering at Jardín al Bosque—one created to celebrate Puerto Rican talent and experience live music in a closer, more personal way.

This was the first edition of Conciertos al Bosque—and the beginning of many more nights beneath the trees.
